Terms of use.

The plain rules for reading the site and for sending work our way. Nothing here is meant to be a trap, just clarity.

The Neuroscience Review is an independent publication run by Cameron Hunterton, reachable at theneuroreview@gmail.com. By using this website you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

The content on this site

Everything here is published for education and general interest. We work hard to get it right and we check each piece against primary sources, but we provide the site on an as is basis without warranties of any kind. Science moves, and a page that was accurate when written can be overtaken by newer work. For anything touching health, please read our disclaimer, which is part of these terms.

Using our work

The writing, images we create, and design on this site belong to The Neuroscience Review unless noted otherwise. You are welcome to read it, share links to it, and quote a short passage with credit and a link back. Republishing a whole piece, or using our work commercially, needs our written permission first. Just ask at the address above and we are usually happy to say yes.

Some images and figures come from third parties under their own licenses, and those are credited where they appear. Their licenses govern how those specific items may be reused.

Sending us a submission

We welcome notes, pitches, and contributions from readers. When you send us something for possible publication, whether a short field note, a pitch, or a full draft, the following applies.

  • You keep ownership of your work. By sending it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, edit, format, display, and promote it on this site and our related channels.
  • You confirm the work is your own, that it does not copy anyone else's work, and that it does not break the law or violate anyone's rights.
  • You confirm that any factual claims are honest and, to the best of your knowledge, accurate.
  • We may edit for length, clarity, and accuracy, and we may decline, hold, or remove a submission at any time and for any reason.
  • Publishing a submission is not a guarantee, and unless we agree otherwise in writing, submissions are not paid.
  • If you want a submission taken down after it is published, write to us and we will remove it within a reasonable time.
  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's consent, to send us a submission.

How to behave here

Please do not misuse the site. That means no attempts to break, overload, or tamper with it, no scraping it for another product without permission, and no submitting content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or infringing. We may restrict access to anyone who does these things.

Links to other sites

We link to outside sources so you can check the science yourself. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their practices.

Reporting a problem with content

If you believe something published here infringes your copyright or another right, or is otherwise unlawful, please tell us at theneuroreview@gmail.com with enough detail for us to find it. We review these reports and will edit or remove content when it is appropriate.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Neuroscience Review and its operator are not liable for any loss or harm that results from using the site or relying on its content. You use the site and act on what you read here at your own discretion.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to the site or these terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.
